Just to share abit as there are still alot to unpack...haha

Finally moved into our new house

11st November was the day to 安佛 and move to new house.

On 7th & 8th November
Hence, have been pressing hard on interior designer to speed up the last phase of the renovation. Although on surface things look almost done but actual fact there are tons of stuff to do. Have spent weekend busy with cleaning, unpack cartons of stuff moved in from old house, wait for deliveries and instruct the contractor on where to install stuffs and etc. Totally exhausted.

On 10th November
ID sent in his cleaner to do cleaning while we busy setting up the "唐城" for medicine Buddha till late night.

On 11th November
Arrived at new house at 7am to prepare the offering for "谢土" and "安佛" till 1pm. Then start to move in and unpack all cartons from 3pm to 11pm and continue for the following day where we have successfully unpacked our bedroom, ian's bedroom and kitchen.

Renovation Progress

Meet up with the INTERIOR designer last Saturday to discuss on the carpentry, cornice and etc.
Although, all wall and floor tiles are done but find there are still tonnes of things to be done before completion. to meet the deadline 11.11.2008.

* installation of Windows & Grills and doors
* Electrical & installation of lighthing and fans
* Change of lock
* Painting
* Cleaning up
* Moving, unpacking and packing and etc.

Unhappy with AIRCON piping layout :
As it have make the ceiling between the bedroom very very LOW.
Question => Why can't these AIRCON manufacturer or contractor think of a better ways to hide those UGLY piping. Don't tell me because HDB flat are like that.

动土 and Renovation's week

After the "Dong tu yi shi" on 2nd October, the renovation works start the following day. Pop over on 2nd day of hacking, found all flooring are hacked except the 3 bedrooms. Work job pretty quickly on hacking. But the wall leading from master bedroom to next room can't be hacked now due to permit have yet approve.

7th October went down to house to discussion the layout for lighting and aircon with ID - DEREK and electrician/aircon man. Requested to have most of the powerpoint or trucking to be hidden but failed due to various reasons like lower the ceil or water can't flow and blah blah... : {

Then bought ian to the site over the weekend, toliet wall tiles are up and Ian happily playing at the sandpit as well as get his hand dirty with the cement. * Faint*

Just received update from ID that " bedroom's wall hacked this afternoon" and asked me whether want to fixed window on the service balcony? Answer him that if free ones then i will take it. Upon checking with hubby, he told me that shouldn't that already include in the quotation? Told him i don't know better check with DEREK lor. Then also received he sms read "This sat u'r mine haha! 2pm @ your place to measure capentary." Luckily, hubby also forward the same message to me too.....

Progress of the renovation :
- Tiling works should finsih by this fri
- Thur AM arrange window measurements
- Next week start install toilet fixtures except shower screen + wash basin (cos must wait for carpentary)
- Next week Electrical, cornice works after finsh will paint.

Point to remind derek ==> PLEASE REMEMBER TO PAINT THOSE WATER PIPES BEFORE ALL CARPENTARY WORKS. ( HOPE HE IS READING THIS)

Renovation Discussion

Finally, 26th Sept we will officially to take over the new house.

Hence, meet up with I.D to discuss on renovation "ideas" but it costs us a bomb. Given current market situation, decided to do a simple renovation instead. So don't expect to see any fancy things in my new place. haha.

Besides, if u have any good lobang, please do let me know and below are the lists :

* 4 system aircon
* 5 units of ceiling fans
* Dinning table & Chairs
* Lighting & Switches
* Tinted Mirror ( 4ft by 2ft by 5ft ) or off the shelves Mirror

Besides, which is better? In term of costs.
* Gas or electrical dryer
* conventional stove or induction stove
* Normal hob or fujitsu hob (heard it cost over 1k)
* Wall paper or paint

First HDB appointment for new house

010808, our first HDB appointment for the new house. But it is rather an unpleasant experience. Cause the agent and seller told us that they only want to moved out of the house at 1st week of October instead of 1st Week of September. Then the lady seller told us that if she knew that the transaction need to be completed by 1st week of september, she will not agreed to sell it to us.

This have really make both of us mad where told the agent to confirmed with the seller do they still want to sell else it is okay for us to called off the deal. However, the male seller insisted to sell the house and we can't call it off so the deal still have to proceed but will have HDB to decide on the completion date. Of course, the HDB will followed the protocol and allow the whole transaction to completed by 26th Sept 2008.

Prior the appointment, agent told us that the seller allows us to bring our fengshui master and designer to view the house. But they later changed their statement that they need to go back to office to settle their stuffs and requested us to arrange it earlier. So we managed to changed it to 12.30pm after the HDB appointment but the male seller then insisted that he need to settle the bank giro and town council issues and request us to view the house at 1.30pm. Finally, when we are at the place, the lady seller just locked up all the rooms.

Really frustrated with this seller and agent for being so inconsiderate and cooperative. Maybe should write to CASE and Property Assossication to complaints...

16.06.2008 ==> Bye bye house @ block 91

Finally the day have come 16.06.2008, our second HDB appointment to sell the flat away.
Now we are officially HOMELESS till Oct'08. Was excited to see the cash from the sale but was used up very quickly to pay off agent's commission fee and COV for the new flats.... : (

Now we just look forward for the new house Block 14A and have minor renovation on it before moving in. As well as look for a contractor to renovate the new house.

If u have any lobang on good and reliable as well as cheap contractor please introduce to me.
