She's a girl per the scan and aminocentesis report.

Since 16/3 after the FA scan we have found out the baby will be a girl.
Both myself and Mark are delighted as we would like to have a girl in our NEST.
However, the most important issue is the baby is HEALTHY.

Now i have a SON and DAUGTHER as well as a lovely HUBBY which complete my WORLD.

Amniocentesis Test on 01st March

What is Amniocentesis?
Amniocentesis is a specialised diagnostic test that involves taking a sample of amniotic fluid from your uterus (womb) and examining it in the laboratory to see whether your baby has any serious abnormalities. It's a diagnostic test, which means that it can tell you with almost complete certainty whether or not your baby has got a particular condition. It can also reveal the sex of your baby.
How is it performed?
You will be asked to lie down on an examination couch. Using ultrasound for guidance, your doctor will identify a pocket of amniotic fluid a safe distance from your baby and the placenta. She will then insert a long, thin, hollow needle through your abdominal wall and into the sac of fluid around your baby. You can choose to have your abdomen numbed first with a local anaesthetic, but this isn't usually necessary (RCOG 2006). With the special long needle, the doctor withdraws a small amount of amniotic fluid; about two tablespoons. This fluid contains cells from your baby, chemicals, and micro-organisms that can answer many questions about your baby's health. Guiding the needle to the right position using the ultrasound scan can take up to 20 minutes. Inserting the needle and withdrawing the amniotic fluid takes only about five minutes. Once the needle is out, you may have some tummy cramps. In about one in every 12 procedures, not enough fluid is collected on the first try and the needle has to be re-inserted (RCOG 2006).
Does it hurt?
If you have been advised to drink a lot of water before your amniocentesis to ensure that the ultrasound picture is clear, you might find the procedure uncomfortable. Women say that they feel a sharp stinging feeling as the needle goes in and pressure as the needle is withdrawn (RCOG 2006). However, everyone experiences the procedure differently and it may feel different with one pregnancy than with another.
How do i feel?
Honestly, quite uneasy as hubby not around to go through this with me. Was tensed up when the needle goes under skin as felt a sharp stinging feeling even after hours. The procedure only lasted for 5mins. I started to feel better when the doctor show me the baby's ultra sound scan where the little ones keep turning here and there. Haha very active baby.
When the result available?
According to the doc, it should be available within 21 days from today. So my next appointment will be on 26th March. Hence, make a guess the baby is a girl or boy. To me, most importantly the baby is healthly.

Other displays also show how the body rects to distress, disease and the effects of smoking. It has been a joy to have Ian in my class. I look forward to continue teaching him.

Term Two
Ian has shown improvement in terms of concentration and attention span in term 2. Ian shows developing focus and attention skills. Compared to term 1, Ian is now able to sit down and complete a task or worksheet given, and would throw lesser tantrums in class when refusing to do a task.

Besides, his concentration and attention skills, Ian is seen to be putting in more effort to complete his tasks when given. For example, he would take an effort to colour the whole page of the worsheet or book, instead of colouring only a small part of the picture in term 1.

Although Ian concentration and attentino skills have improved, at times he may need some assistance to complete tasks. For example, when teacher asks him what he should do for the worksheet, he is able to tell verbally what he should write or colour. However, when the teacher leaves him alone to complete the worksheet, he is not able to follow what he told teacher he should do. When teacher sits down with him, he is able to complete the worksheet by himself.

Ian has also shown improvement in his ocial domain. He enjoys sharing his personal things with his friends, and enjoys helping his friends who are in need. However, he may show dominance at times, especially during free play.

Ian has been a amiable boy in class. I look forward to teach him in term 4.

Term Four
Ian is an energetic boy in class who enjoys physical activities. In Term 4, Ian has improved on his attention span on a task although hestill needs alot of encoragement from the teacher to finish his work.

Ian enjoys outdoor activities such as playing the ball and playing at the kidz Amaze. Ian's favourite activity is to blow bubbles at the garden.

Ian is very creative and imaginative as seen in his drawings. During free play, Ian prefers quieter activities such as drawing on the paper. In every piece of drawing, there will always be a storyline behind it.

Although ian is able to play cooperatively with his peers, he stills need help in his anger management. For example, when he receives rejection from his peers, he would throw tantrums at himself and break into tears.

Ian's jubilant and zealous nature will definitely help him progress further in the next year. I look forward to see his progress in the coming year.
