Last Friday 11/16, My heart had popped out when received call from mother that Dad was sent to TTSH A&E. Was send in due to he had fainted in the clinic and detected with irregular heart beat (Atrial fibrillation). Hence, was admitted and discharged on Saturday afternoon with a Holter to take readings on his heart activity for next 24hrs. Was told that dad need to do a electric SHOCK to regular the heartbeat but dad rejected and prefer to take mediciation to thin the blood to prevent stroke. To convince dad, request to see another specialist for advice.
On Monday 19/11, have received call from TTSH that they found Dad have number of stop heart beat (ranging from 3.2sec to 10.3sec)during the monitoring. With this, Dad have to stop his medication on High blood pressure as it will slow down his heart beat as well as the blood thinner pill. Besides, they recommend Dad to implant a PACE MAKER to prevent the heart stop for more than 3 sec. However, Dad reject the idea as he insisted the HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE pill, is the one that causes all the problem. Hence, pleaded the doctor to convince dad to do the implant so that his problem on slow or stop heart beat, high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat can be treated.
Coming Friday, will send Dad to SGH to see specialist on PACE MAKER and hope we can convince Dad to have it done asap.
